2. Chant: west, west, in the west of America. Los Angeles is in the west of America. Chant again with rhythm.
采用不同形式的chant操練,避免形式單一,也能達(dá)到學(xué)習(xí)效果。
(三) Follow Jerry to practice the use of “east” and “west”
1. Jerry is in the house: in the ____ (east/west) 通過Jerry被追地到處亂跑,讓學(xué)生快速說出位置,在動(dòng)態(tài)的情境中調(diào)動(dòng)學(xué)生的說的興趣,應(yīng)用英語。
2. Jerry escaped: It’s in the ___ of New York.
It’s in the ___ of Los Angeles.
延續(xù)Jerry情境,讓學(xué)生用句子表達(dá)Jerry的位置。這里有意識地選擇了New York 和Los Angeles,再次操練這兩個(gè)地點(diǎn)生詞。
3. Jerry comes to China. Can you tell where are the cities?
Xining is in the west of China.
Shanghai is in the east of China.
Beijing is in the north of China. (Show the word “north”)
Hong Kong is in the south of China. (Show and practice “south”)
從中國的東、西方的兩個(gè)城市的描述,到南北兩個(gè)城市的描述,目的在于引出“north”“south”兩個(gè)方位詞。這兩個(gè)詞都是將在Unit2出現(xiàn)的,為了對方位有整體的感知,也在本課中提出作為弱化處理。
(四) Listen to the story again and have the students repeat.
Do the activity book. And check the answers.
四、Activities
1. Show the arrows as the symble of directions. Let the students say the four directions quickly. Talk about the directions of their groups. “We are in the east/ west/ north/ south”。 教室內(nèi)的方位。
2. School trip
T: Where are we in school? (Show the pictures of school)
Ss: We’re in the west of our school.
T: Please tell Jerry about our school. (Show the pictures of the buildings and areas of our school)
Ss: It’s in the ___ of our school. 學(xué)校內(nèi)建筑的方位。
3. Introducing your home to Jerry.
Talking about it in pairs and then say by individules.
The students who live in the same area stand up and say.介紹自己居住的小區(qū)的名稱以及具體位置。描述的范圍逐漸擴(kuò)大,句式包含live in…和方位 in the … of …。
